Personnel

The Center brings together firms in the forest products industry, public agencies, and the Department of Sustainable Biomaterials at Virginia Tech. Cooperators also include other faculty members within the College of Natural Resources and Environment and the Pamplin College of Business and the USDA Forest Service scientists from the Northeastern and Southeastern Research Stations.

Services

The study of forest products marketing has grown rapidly as forest products firms increase their emphasis on marketing as a source of competitiveness. The Center for Forest Products Business was established to help these firms improve the management of their operations and the marketing of their products. Our mission is accomplished through educating market-oriented professionals for employment in the forest products industry, providing useful market research results, and offering continuing education for forest products industry professionals.

    Outreach by the Center for Forest Products Marketing and Management includes consulting and continuing education programs.

    The Center's Faculty teach courses and provide research opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in the Forest Products Marketing Management Option.

  • Short courses

    The Center's Faculty members offer annual courses in Forest Products Marketing, Selling Forest Products, and Lean Manufacturing. New courses are examined each year.
